Accessibility

Kommunalservice Jena endeavors to make its websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. This directive was implemented in Thuringia by the Thuringian Act on Barrier-free Access to the Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG) of 30.07.2019. The Thuringian Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (ThürBITVO) of 28.04.2020 also applies.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, these websites are partially compatible with the Thuringian Act on Barrier-free Access to the Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG) and the Thuringian Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (ThürBITVO).

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Incompatibility with national legislation

• Some elements (e.g. the logos in the header and footer area) have inadequate labeling.
• Semantic mark-up is used for headings, but the nesting of the hierarchy levels is misleading.
• Input fields that clearly refer to the user do not always convey the purpose of the respective field via a language-independent attribute.
• The color contrasts of some elements are not yet in the required proportion.
• Not every element can be accessed via the keyboard.
• The stage does not stop moving on its own, moving and automatically updated content cannot be paused, hidden or adjusted in its update frequency.
• The marking of the current tab position is not visible for some elements.
• The mandatory field symbols for forms are not explained.
• There are mandatory fields on forms that are not marked as such.
• In forms, important data is sent without prior data display or dialog for confirmation.
• The HTML syntax is not correct in some places.
• User-defined browser settings for larger fonts are not respected.
• Content in sign language is not yet available.

Kommunalservice Jena is making every effort to rectify these shortcomings quickly in order to achieve a high level of accessibility.
