The nature experience center is being built in the middle of Jena's forest on the site of the former Schottplatz to inspire visitors young and old for nature, to show the interplay between nature and man and to provide information about hiking routes in the area.
It is also an excellent starting point for extensive hikes in natura jenensis - the nature experience region of the Middle Saale Valley. Connected by the SaaleHorizontale, you can discover the life of knights, sky ponds, dinosaurs and forest animals on four adventure trails. And you can even bring Napoleon and wild boar to life on your smartphone.
