The green thumb for the city

On an area of 3 hectares and in 10 greenhouses, the nursery's employees grow and care for the plants for the alternating planting of the city's green spaces. Numerous plants beautify the cityscape, for example at Eichplatz, around the Ernst Abbe monument and in the flowerbeds and planters along the streets.

Our range

We offer hobby and leisure gardeners a wide range of seasonal plants, products and services all year round.

Spring planting *

* Would you like to have your flower boxes, bowls and tubs planted by our staff? No problem, we can do it for you!

We offer home-grown bedding and balcony plants, vegetable and herb plants and perennials from our own production. You can select your future plants yourself in our greenhouses. Our seasonal plants are fresh, have a long shelf life and are well hardened.

More services

You can also obtain potting soil , flower arrangements and covering brushwood from us in November / December.

We offer frost-free wintering quarters for your potted plants.

The sustainable production is environmentally friendly due to the reduced use of fertilizer and water, the saving of long transport routes and the avoidance of packaging waste.

We will be happy to advise you on the selection and care of your plants.

Sowing, growing and care

This is what a gardening year looks like for us:

January	first sowing for the summer, first young plants (cannas, fuchsias)
February	Pricking out, remaining young plants (petunias, geraniums)
March	Sale of e.g. primroses, pansies, various types of centaury, lettuce and kohlrabi plants; as well as the provision of spring planting for the green spaces
April	Care measures, potting, repotting
May	Sale of summer plants (e.g. geraniums, fuchsias, petunias, pelargoniums, begonias, marigolds) and vegetable plants (e.g. tomatoes, celery) as well as stocking the green areas with summer plants
June July	Sale of strawberry plants
August	Sale of potted chrysanthemums, sowing seeds for spring planting (e.g. pansies, centaury, primroses)
September October	Potting of spring plants, provision of fall planting (e.g. chrysanthemums) for green spaces. We take your plants into our care for overwintering.
November December	Sale of grave and Advent arrangements and brushwood, care of spring plants
