Cemeteries are places of remembrance, mourning and reflection. This is where the deceased find their final resting place and their loved ones a place of remembrance.

In addition to these original tasks, the cemetery also has an important social function. It is an expression of the community of a place.

Visitors to the cemetery meet like-minded people and get into conversation. The enclosed space is a special place among the publicly accessible spaces.

A walk through the cemetery brings the regional history of the town to life. The graves of well-known personalities are authentic places of history and convey an understanding of our past. Cemeteries are therefore also cultural sites.

Due to the landscape design of most cemeteries and the large number of trees and shrubs, there is a high ecological benefit for the urban climate, air pollution control and the habitat of plants and animals.
