Bench Sponsorships (Forest)
A special gift for a special occasion
Why not give the gift of a bench sponsorship in Jena’s Stadtwald, where the recipient can spend time and relax, or where you can honor the memory of a loved one?
Benches in the City Forest
For bench sponsorships, we offer slatted benches with or without a dedication. Generally, the benches are located on city-owned land. We are not currently identifying new locations, as there are already a large number available.
You can view available locations on the Jena map portal. When you click on an available location, the bench number appears—the same number that is affixed to the benches.
Duration and Cost of a Sponsorship
A bench sponsorship lasts for 10 years and costs 400 EUR per bench. You will receive a sponsorship certificate and a donation receipt from us.
Over the course of the 10 years, the Jena City Forestry Office will handle repairs, tree trimming, and trash removal at the bench location. Upon expiration of the bench sponsorship, it can be renewed for 5 years (200 EUR) or 10 years (400 EUR).

Would you like a dedication?
Dedications can be added either as a metal plaque or as an engraved inscription on the backrest. If you would like a dedication on the backrest, please indicate this on the contact form.
For metal plaques, the client is responsible for having them made. Please be sure to adhere to the dimensions of 5 x 10 cm (height x width). Additionally, the metal plaque must have 4 drill holes. Please bring the finished metal plaque to the City Forestry Office, and we will install it flush with the backrest at no additional cost.
The engraving is done on a wider backrest board. For this, we need the text (max. two lines, 5–6 words per line). The current cost for engraving is 90.00 EUR per line. The text will be typeset, and you can then choose between two examples. The City Forestry Office will coordinate with the responsible carpentry shop and oversee the completion of the bench. There is an additional cost of 167 EUR for the wider backboard and the engraving (one line).

Would you like to sponsor a bench?
Then please fill out the contact form completely and submit it. We’ll get in touch with you to discuss the specific location. Once you’ve confirmed the location, please fill out the donation receipt form, send it to the email address provided, and transfer the appropriate amount. Once we receive payment, we typically restore the bench within four to six weeks. Wooden parts are sanded, painted, and replaced if necessary. As soon as the bench is ready, we’ll mail you the sponsorship certificate and the donation receipt.
