Waste prevention starts early

Under this guiding principle, the KSJ's waste advisory service is increasingly focusing on education and prevention - starting with the youngest citizens, among others.

Through guided tours, age-appropriate educational programs and practical exercises on waste separation, children learn early on how to avoid waste and correctly separate or reuse recyclable materials. The aim is to create a sustainable awareness that will remain anchored in everyday life in the long term. A wide range of accompanying materials are available to download and print out. These support schools, daycare centers and families in integrating the topic of waste prevention into everyday life in a clear and simple way.

A new feature is a clear timetable that structures the educational content and makes it easy to integrate into lessons. This makes environmental education even easier to plan and flexible to use. Further information and downloadable materials can be found at
