Disposal dates
When will my waste garbage cans be emptied?
For the city of Jena, please select your street first. Then make a selection for the house number.
All postponed dates are already taken into account in the online waste disposal calendar and are indicated by "red dates".
You will also find an overview of postponed dates due to public holidays below the calendar.
Postponement of waste disposal in 2025
The general public holiday regulation
If the emptying falls on a public holiday, the disposal of the remaining days is postponed to the following working day.
This applies to:

Exceptions
However, there will also be some early and some late collections due to public holidays. (Easter and Christmas)
- Good Friday
Due to Good Friday, waste disposal will be brought forward.
This means emptying from:

| Wednesday, April | april 16 | will take place on Tuesday, | april 15 |
| Thursday, April | april 17 | will take place on Wednesday, | april 16th |

Empties will be made up for Easter Monday (April 21). The general public holiday rule applies here: Example: Empties from Monday, April 21 will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
- Christmas
Emptying on December 25 will be brought forward and will take place on Wednesday, December 24. From the 2nd Christmas Day (December 26), waste disposal will be postponed to the following working day. The general public holiday regulations apply again.
This means emptying from:

Biowaste disposal 2025
Organic waste disposal varies seasonally throughout the year.
In the period from week 1 to week 9, collection only takes place every 14 days in the even calendar weeks.
From week 10 to week 52, organic waste is collected weekly throughout the city.
Alternatives
If, in individual cases, the existing container volume is not sufficient due to a high volume of organic waste, additional containers can be purchased. There is also the option of self-delivery at the recycling center.

Christmas tree disposal
A special tour will collect the trees from January 12 - 16, 2026.
Disposal takes place on the dates for organic waste.
Example: If your organic waste container is regularly emptied on a Monday, place the decorated tree next to your organic waste container at 6:00 a.m. on this day with a maximum length of 1.50 m, shorten if necessary!
Disposal then takes place on the respective disposal days of the organic waste collection (place next to the container, shorten if necessary).

Verschiebung der Abfallentsorgung 2026
Die Allgemeine Feiertagsregelung – nachzuholende Entsorgung
Fällt die Leerung auf einen gesetzlichen Feiertag, so verschiebt sich die Entsorgung der restlichen Tage auf den jeweils nachfolgenden Werktag.
Das gilt für:

Ausnahmen – vorgezogene Entsorgung
Es wird eine vorgezogene Entsorgung aufgrund folgender Feiertage geben. (Karfreitag, Tag der Arbeit und Weihnachten)
- Karfreitag
Bedingt durch Karfreitag werden die Entsorgungen vorgezogen.
Das heißt Leerungen vom:
