Waste Collection Service

Placement of Waste Containers on Collection Day: Onthe day of collection,waste containers must be placed in an easily accessible location at the edge of the public right-of-way starting at 6:00 a.m. Since this is not always possible, we offer a pickup and return service—subject to a corresponding contractual agreement: On collection day, we’ll pick up the bins from your property according to the agreed-upon schedule, have them emptied, and then return them to you. Cleaning and Maintenance

Annual cleaning of the 1,100-liter containers: The containers for residual and organic waste, which are owned by KSJ, undergo thorough cleaning and maintenance once a year.

Cleaning Service for 60-, 120-, and 240-liter containers: To prevent and eliminate bacterial and microbial contamination as well as mold growth, we offer a paid cleaning service for your waste containers. • Removal of damaged or outdated stickers, or application of new or missing stickers;

Examples for the bicycle sector

Delivery of containers: For deliveries of multiple containers, a tiered pricing structure applies:

• The first four containers are charged at a flat rate.
• Each additional container beyond that is billed separately.

This rule also applies when eight or more containers are delivered. In addition, there are costs for purchasing the containers, which depend on their size and the type of waste (organic or residual waste).

Cleaning and pickup of containers: Ifmultiple containersareplaced out for cleaning and pickup, charges are billed separately for cleaning and transportation. Billing is based on the number of containers placed out.

Repairs and Replacement Parts

* Different terms and conditions apply to the repair services (including interior and exterior cleaning), depending on the size of the waste container. Separate regulations apply to containers up to 240 liters as well as to containers larger than 240 liters and up to 1,100 liters. If the applicable condition is not met, the respective waste container will not be repaired.

Furthermore:

• Waste containers that cannot be repaired will be disposed of. The client is responsible for the disposal costs
• The classification of waste containers as repairable or non-repairable is determined at the sole discretion of Kommunalservice Jena
• Repairs and functional tests are recorded on the waste container (sticker).
• Evidence of repair expenses is provided (e.g., repair time, replacement parts)

Trash Can Lock (Rental)

Waste containers are often located in freely accessible areas. This poses a risk of unauthorized disposal or vandalism. Enclosures are used to securely house and provide access to waste and recycling containers. By installing a “KSJ lock” (for a fee) in addition to the building’s main lock—the cylinder length is the determining factor—only authorized personnel have access to the enclosure, ensuring smooth waste disposal. To prevent unauthorized filling, many property owners install enclosures for waste containers. This is not possible on every property. We offer the option to lock 1,100-liter waste containers with a lock. Access to the waste container is restricted to authorized users only. If you are interested, please contact our Sales Department.
