Special feature of Li-ion batteries

Li-ion batteries are flammable substances and can be dangerous. They are used, for example, in electric tools, gardening equipment, toys, MP3 players, toothbrushes, razors, electric bikes, cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc.

In order to avoid short circuits during disposal, these must be removed from the appliances if possible and the contacts/poles taped up with adhesive tape before being placed in the collection containers.

The take-back system

The 'GRS Batterien' foundation is a joint manufacturer take-back system. The aim is to further increase the quantity of used portable batteries and rechargeable batteries returned and to find and optimize new technologies for sorting and recycling.

The batteries and accumulators are then sorted and subsequently recycled and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
