An exciting chapter begins for seven young people who are starting their training at Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ). The new trainees will be working in various areas of the company, including administration, technology, green space maintenance, city cleaning and funeral services.

On 21.08.2023, the KSJ welcomed its new trainees at the start of their training.

Sabine Schau, Head of Human Resources: "We are delighted to welcome so many young people to our team. Our training programs not only offer the opportunity to learn specialist skills, but also promote personal and professional development."

The trainees started on Monday with a broad "get-to-know-you" program. They were welcomed personally by the deputy plant manager Katrin Höckrich. After a tour of the plant, the trainees, together with training coordinator Beate Wahlmann and health officer Karoline Bergk, got to know their trainers over lunch. In the afternoon, they all received their starting documents and were given an insight into the various buildings and facilities of the municipal company.

The following day, the focus was on shared experiences and nature. All KSJ trainees explored the nature experience center and the Jena city forest of Kommunalservice Jena together as part of a team challenge. During archery and the subsequent lunch, initial experiences were exchanged and contacts made.

Since the new training year, 20 trainees have been working at the KSJ. With the start of their training, the trainees not only learn their respective professions, but also take on important work in municipal services of general interest.

Parallel to the start, interested parties can already find out more about the 2024 training year. The following technical and commercial apprenticeships are on offer (m/f/d in each case)
