The citizens of Jena can look forward to an exciting new project, the "Tauschhaus 2.0", opening its doors and promising to enrich life in Jena. The new format was realized in cooperation between Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) and Saale Betreuungswerk der Lebenshilfe Jena gGmbH.

Mr. Feige, Plant Manager KSJ: "We are incredibly proud to operate the swap house in this new format for our city. It is a place where people can come together to share items, conserve resources and build relationships. I hope the swap house is another step in encouraging people to make more conscious choices."

The Tauschhaus, which is located at Löbstedter Straße 68 (opposite Imaginata), is a place of sustainability, but also of social engagement. It was created to bring the community closer together and further promote the idea of sharing. The basic idea of the swap house is simple: anyone can donate unused and usable items such as children's items (baby carriages, bicycles, chairs, etc.), books, games, household goods (crockery, cutlery, cups, etc.) and in return take items that others have made available. However, clothing, furniture and electronic items are not accepted. The swap house thus promotes sustainability, social connection and consumer awareness.

The official opening of the new swap house is November 6, 2023 at 10:00 am.
The KSJ cordially invites all interested parties to the new swap house - visitor parking is available.
The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 - 17:00.

The idea of a swap house was originally implemented in 2017 at the northern recycling center, initially for the exchange of books. The "range" was later expanded to include other media and games. Donations for the swap house can be handed in directly at the new swap house and still at the Löbstedter Straße 56 recycling center during opening hours. The old exchange house is available until 31.12.2023 and the familiar shopping cart (book donations) is also available.
