14. Jena family hiking day in the Jena Forest

Event with the participation of Jena City Forestry

Young and old are invited to hike through the Jena Forest on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10 am. The Jenaer Bündnis für Familie and the Förderkreis Familienfreundliches Jena e.V. are organizing the event together with partners for the 14th time. Hiking enthusiasts can expect a four-kilometre route with various question stations on the subject of animals, forests and nature.

Long day of nature

Attention nature fans, insect hunters and bird lovers: Family-friendly excursions take place in the surrounding area after the family hiking day.

  • 16:00 - Off into the forest!

We discover the forest with fun, games and curiosity. On a short hike through the Jena Forest, we will search for clues, listen to the sounds of the forest and marvel at the peculiarities and wonders of nature. Be curious and join in... we look forward to a great time in the forest with you.

  • 17:30 - Evening bird concert

Together with the bird experts from NABU, we go on an exploration tour. Which birds can we hear or discover in the trees? You will be amazed at how diverse the local birdlife is and how quickly you can distinguish between different songs. We'll go on a short, leisurely walk - ideal for families.

  • 19:00 - What's that crawling?

Insect lovers (and those who want to become one) watch out! During an evening excursion, we will take a close look at the creepy-crawlies. What tricks do these six-legged creatures have up their sleeves? Our nature conservation experts will tell you...
