On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Jena Alliance for Families, together with the Förderkreis Familienfreundliches Jena e. V. and other partners, invites you to the 15th Family Hiking Day through the Jena Forest. The start is at 10:00 am at the forum natura nature experience center on the former Schottplatz.
The approximately four-kilometer route leads through forest and meadow, past the forest tower and the observatory - both open their doors on this day. At several stations along the way, young and old can test their knowledge of animals, nature and the forest and receive a stamp if they are successful. At the end, a certificate awaits all hiking princes and princesses.
A special highlight is the traditional children's and forest festival at the forest tower with fun and games for all generations. Those who prefer a more relaxed journey can use the popular Tschu-Tschu train - first departure at 9:30 a.m. from the Mühltal stop (line 16), then every hour. Last return journey from Schottplatz: 16:30.
Starting numbers cost 1 euro and are available directly on site. The proceeds support the Jenaer Bündnis für Familie. The appropriate stamp card with the route is available at the starting point.
From 10:00 to 17:00, a colorful family festival at the nature experience center rounds off the program - with a bouncy castle, beekeeping demonstrations, alpaca hike, craft activities and culinary offerings.
