Attention: Upcoming full closure

Kommunalservice Jena informs about an upcoming full closure of Paradiesstraße and Grietgasse due to necessary road works. The aim of these measures is to replace the large paving with asphalt in order to improve passability for two-wheeled vehicles and reduce noise pollution. The work is part of the Jena 2035+ cycling plan, which was adopted by the city council in February 2024.

The construction work will be carried out in two phases:

• 24.03. to 04.04.2025: Closure of the area between Löbdergraben and the underground parking garage access.
• 07.04. to 30.04.2025: Closure from the entrance to the underground car park along Paradiesstraße and in Grietgasse up to the pavement/asphalt transition.

During the construction period, motorized traffic will not be able to pass. However, pedestrians can still pass through these areas. Vehicle owners are requested to make alternative parking arrangements in good time, as no replacement parking spaces will be provided. Bus services will be diverted. Emergency services and waste disposal companies have been informed of the measures and have made appropriate arrangements. The city of Jena asks all residents and road users for their understanding for the resulting restrictions and will endeavor to complete the construction work as quickly as possible.
