Children’s Environment Day (UKT) is celebrating its first small anniversary this year: For the fifth time, Imaginata is inviting visitors to its grounds on September 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a Children’s Day with a twist. Under the theme “Diversity,” visitors can look forward to a colorful festival featuring numerous hands-on and DIY activities. Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) will also be represented with its own information booth.

At the KSJ booth, everything revolves around the responsible use of waste and resources. Topics such as waste separation, waste prevention, reuse, and upcycling are presented in a clear and child-friendly manner. Children can discover why proper waste separation is important, how waste can be avoided, and that many items are far from being worn out just because they are no longer needed.

In addition to the varied program, refreshments will of course be available. ONEPOT Jena will offer vegetarian dishes, and the bistro invites visitors to linger over coffee and cake. Admission is free, and the Imaginata’s exhibition park can also be visited at no cost on this day.

The KSJ is looking forward to a varied day with many curious visitors, both young and old—and to showing everyone together that environmental protection, waste reduction, and reuse aren’t just important, but can also be exciting and creative.
