Forest whispers

The Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald (SDW) Thüringen and the Stadtforstamt Jena (KSJ) are jointly inviting you to the new after-work lecture series "Waldgeflüster". The series is dedicated to topics relating to forests, nature and sustainability and is aimed at all interested parties from Jena and the region.

The lectures take place on the last Thursday of every month (with the exception of May) from 6.30 to 8.00 pm at theforum natura nature experience center (Otto-Schott-Platz 1, Jena). A total of 10 varied dates are planned for 2026.

The series will kick off on January 29 with a lecture by Jena's city forester Olaf Schubert entitled "If trees could talk - forest whispers from the city forester".

You can look forward to a diverse mix of exciting stories, current research findings and inspiring insights. From the history of the urban forest and wild herbs to urban nature and family time in the forest - there is something for everyone here.

Participation in the lecture series is free of charge. Prior registration is required and can be made by e-mail to waldgefluester@sdw-thueringen.de.
