Helpful cork collection

On November 26, 2024, colleagues from Kommunalservice Jena handed over a large quantity of collected corks to NAJU Jena. Since the collection campaign began in 2022, 500 kilograms of cork material have already been collected - a valuable contribution to environmental and species protection.
Marco Hüttig (pictured right) handed over around 20 boxes containing a total of 200 kg of cork material to the NAJU. (140 kg in 2023) The organization uses the corks for environmental education projects and creative activities that promote awareness of recycling and resource conservation. Thanks to the dedicated collectors and visitors to the northern recycling center, more than 20,000 bottle caps have been collected so far.

They are collected in a brown garbage can at the northern recycling center. This project not only reuses the material sensibly, but also makes an active contribution to the protection of natural resources.

The collection continues!
The cork collection campaign will continue in 2025. Anyone interested can put their corks in the brown collection garbage can provided during the opening hours of the Recycling Center North. The KSJ would like to thank all supporters of the campaign and looks forward to many more collectors!
