Jena/Dornburg, June 17, 2026 — Formore than ten years, Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) has been a partner and supporter of the Dornburg Rose Festival. This year, the 53rd Dornburg Rose Queen, Leonie Voigt, is traveling in two KSJ vehicles throughout Jena and the surrounding area to draw attention to the upcoming 54th reign. During her one-year term, which is now coming to an end, Leonie Voigt certainly couldn’t complain about a lack of engagements. She has made around 70 appearances so far—her visit to the KSJ was a special event and also marked her 70th engagement. At times, she had several events per week. At the same time, she is currently in 11th grade and preparing for her Abitur. She is understandably relieved looking ahead to the coming year, when she will be able to focus fully on her final exams.
As her term draws to a close, she has once again promoted the city in a special way over the past few weeks: with her likeness on Klemm billboards attached to the collection vehicles of the municipal utility Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ). As a result, the Rose Queen is currently visible throughout the city.
KSJ Plant Manager Uwe Feige emphasizes the importance of this commitment: “Volunteer work and civic engagement are an indispensable part of our social life. With our support, we want to highlight and honor precisely this kind of commitment.”
The partnership between KSJ and the Dornburg Rose Festival Association has been in place for over ten years. Kommunalservice provides organizational and technical support for the festival, while its employees also volunteer on-site. A highlight of the festival weekend is the grand parade on Sunday, June 28. Under this year’s motto, “It’s Time to Get the Costumes Out into the Fresh Air,” clubs, initiatives, and regional organizations will present creatively designed entries, offering a vibrant glimpse into regional traditions. As part of the festival, the new Dornburg Rose Queen will also be ceremonially crowned. In addition to the parade, visitors can look forward to a varied program featuring activities for children as well as a hand-powered carousel.
The 54th Dornburg Rose Festival takes place from June 26 to 28. Admission is free. For more information, visit: www.dornburger-rosenfest.de
