Last Saturday, the Repair Café (RC) was hosted by Kommunalservice at Löbstedter Straße 56 from 13:00 - 17:00. Over 50 interested people took advantage of the opportunity to have defective items repaired free of charge or for a voluntary donation. Of the repair attempts, 10 were successful and 3 were partial.
The Repair Café is an initiative that aims to reduce waste and extend the life of everyday objects. Under the motto "Throw away? No thanks!", volunteers, including craftspeople and tinkerers, are on hand to help repair electrical appliances, clothing, bicycles and much more.
This format offers an excellent opportunity to actively practise sustainability and make a contribution to environmental protection. "We are delighted to welcome the Repair Café to the KSJ once a year. This initiative not only promotes awareness of resource conservation, but also strengthens the sense of community in our city," says Uwe Feige, Plant Manager KSJ.
