Starting signal for the expansion of Naumburger Strasse

Representatives of the project partners involved thus gave the "go-ahead" for the start of extensive construction work, which is intended to sustainably strengthen the transport and supply infrastructure in the north of Jena.

The aim of the project is to expand an efficient and future-proof infrastructure. The plans include new tracks for local public transport, the modernization of technical pipe networks, a completely renewed roadway and modern footpaths and cycle paths. This will enable Naumburger Strasse to meet the requirements of a growing city in the long term and at the same time improve road safety for all road users.

Stadtwerke Jena Netze, JenaWasser, Jenaer Nahverkehr, Kommunalservice Jena and the city of Jena are involved in the project. Thanks to the close cooperation of all partners, construction processes are to be coordinated efficiently and the necessary work bundled. The official start of construction is scheduled for March 2, 2026.
