Tree felling on Kahlaische Straße

Two trees will soon be felled in the area of the construction site for the new footpath and cycle path on Kahlaische Straße. The measure is unavoidable for reasons of road safety and the poor state of health of the trees.

The roots of the two trees were damaged during the civil engineering work currently being carried out. In conjunction with previously identified vitality deficiencies, it is unfortunately no longer possible to preserve the two lime trees. An inspection by the relevant specialist department has shown that the stability of the trees is no longer guaranteed.

In order to preserve the avenue character of the area, replacement planting is planned in the same place in the near future.

The felling work is expected to be carried out on 29.10.2025, taking into account the applicable environmental and nature conservation regulations. The necessary half-sided closure of the road may result in traffic obstructions.
