As winter approaches, the waste disposal department of Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) would like to remind you how important it is to regularly clear the paths to the waste garbage cans of snow and leaves. Every day, the KSJ's refuse collectors take on the important task of transporting waste garbage cans from the collection points on a large number of private properties to the disposal vehicle and putting them back again.
However, this work can be associated with considerable risks, especially in the winter months. Leaves, snow or icy surfaces pose a serious risk to the safety of the refuse collectors and at the same time make it difficult to dispose of waste smoothly.
Therefore the following advice for property owners:
- Make sure that the paths to the waste garbage can collection points are regularly cleared of leaves, snow and ice.
- Observe the clearing and gritting obligations to ensure safe and efficient waste disposal.
