The first barrier-free play equipment in Jena was inaugurated and handed over to the public on the Wenigenjenaer Platz playground on 05.09.2022

Dana Weingart from the Advisory Board for People with Disabilities had applied for barrier-free play equipment via the 2021 citizens' budget.

The aim was to equip a playground in Jena with inclusive play equipment that would enable children with and without disabilities to play together. In coordination with Christian Putzmann (KSJ | Playgrounds), the selection was made as part of the budget.

The seesaw can be used with wheelchairs. A railing was added to the seesaw to ensure that children with limited mobility can also walk on it. The KSJ provided financial support and assisted with the installation.

Incidentally, another proposal with this goal was submitted in this year's citizens' budget. The "barrier-free trampoline" is currently being examined by the city.
