Kommunalservice Jena is planning to renovate a section of Buchaer Straße in the fall of 2025. The approximately 150-metre-long construction site extends from the junction of Buchaer Straße 6-12 to the level of house no. 16 / access to the JAT company (entrance 2).

This is a road maintenance measure that is necessary due to the poor condition of the existing asphalt pavement. Cracks, potholes and chipping are increasingly impairing road safety and ride quality.

The plan is to renew the full width of the bound road surface. The existing bound and unbound base layers will be largely retained and continue to be used. In addition, the kerbs and road drains will be renewed.

Construction work will begin on 20.10.2025 and is expected to be completed by 05.12.2025. The work will be carried out by the company Streicher GmbH & Co. KG from Jena.

A full closure of the section is necessary to carry out the work. During this time, traffic will be diverted via Winzerlaer Straße and Ammerbacher Straße. The entrances to Buchaer Straße 6-12 will remain accessible at all times. Access to the underground garages in the construction area will still be possible at the beginning of the project while the pavement is being renewed. During the asphalt paving and the necessary preparatory work, however, the access road must be completely closed. Once the asphalt work has been completed, the underground parking garages can be accessed again. Detailed information on the respective restrictions as well as the contact persons on site will be communicated by the construction company carrying out the work via a notice board.

Once the first construction phase has been completed, the second phase up to Ammerbacher Straße is scheduled for the beginning of the second quarter of 2026.

Kommunalservice Jena asks all road users for their understanding for the restrictions associated with the construction work and recommends that they follow the signposted detour and the instructions on site.
