The KSJ collects waste separately and manages the respective disposal routes (e.g., reuse, material recycling, thermal recycling, landfilling). All material flows are tracked. They provide information, for example, on the types and quantities of waste and serve as the basis for proper disposal and the development of recycling center infrastructure.
At the “Löbstedter Straße” recycling center, over 40 different types of waste are now collected separately. Approximately 98% of the waste at the recycling center can be recovered through thermal or material recycling.
